Find­ing beau­ti­ful im­ages for this site is an en­joy­able pass time. Mak­ing it func­tion flu­idly is an­other story. I’ve been busy hook­ing things up on the back end. (No pun in­tended. Re­ally!) But don’t think for a mo­ment my mis­chie­vous lit­tle mind has been on the blink. I’ll catch you up soon. Mean­while, some of that de­li­cious eye candy.

Last month I read an ex­tremely well writ­ten es­say called Giv­ing Up the Ghost, or, How I Sold My Dom­i­na­trix Equip­ment at the eBay Store by Melissa Fe­bos. I was go­ing to rec­om­mend it even­tu­ally, but I just saw she has a new book out, WHIP SMART, so I thought I bet­ter put the word out pronto.

I’ve been look­ing for hot read­ing all my life and am dis­ap­pointed time and again with what’s on of­fer. The naughty tales of bi-​​curious Eng­lish school­girls, the bodice-​​rippers, and es­pe­cially the lazi­ness of un­be­liev­able plot­ting when there are no short­age of hot and likely hap­pen­ing scenarios…like the ones you hear from your lady friends. And the cheese ball ver­nac­u­lar most of the writ­ers fall into: mem­ber, man­li­ness, honey pot, lamb pit, joy stick, tube steak, hole, and any num­ber of these be­ing “forced into her sex.” I’m sure I’ll rant on the gra­tu­itous mis­use of “sexy” words in erotic prose at some point, but you get the idea.

I’m ex­cited to read this book mainly be­cause Fe­bos’ ar­ti­cle was not like that at all and the sub­ject mat­ter of this book sounds much hot­ter. Ac­cord­ing to au­thor (CHANG AND ENG) Darin Strauss, “Whip Smart is that rare, lav­ish thing — a page­turner that gets you to think, a book that tran­scends its sub­ject, a true story (in both senses of the word). It’s what you want. Lu­cid and slyly se­duc­tive, funny and sad, Melissa Fe­bos is the real deal.” Add to that the Ama­zon read­ers lit­er­ally could not put the book down and all re­ported fin­ish­ing it in less than two days!

Of course I’ll let you know what I think once I’m done.
