Accessibility is great, but I’m big into the creativity spawned by the censorship of the repressed 1950s…

Finding beautiful images for this site is an enjoyable pass time. Making it function fluidly is another story. I’ve been busy hooking things up on the back end. (No pun intended. Really!) But don’t think for a moment my mischievous little mind has been on the blink. I’ll catch you up soon. Meanwhile, some of that delicious eye candy.

Last month I read an extremely well written essay called Giving Up the Ghost, or, How I Sold My Dominatrix Equipment at the eBay Store by Melissa Febos. I was going to recommend it eventually, but I just saw she has a new book out, WHIP SMART, so I thought I better put the word out pronto.
I’ve been looking for hot reading all my life and am disappointed time and again with what’s on offer. The naughty tales of bi-curious English schoolgirls, the bodice-rippers, and especially the laziness of unbelievable plotting when there are no shortage of hot and likely happening scenarios…like the ones you hear from your lady friends. And the cheese ball vernacular most of the writers fall into: member, manliness, honey pot, lamb pit, joy stick, tube steak, hole, and any number of these being “forced into her sex.” I’m sure I’ll rant on the gratuitous misuse of “sexy” words in erotic prose at some point, but you get the idea.
I’m excited to read this book mainly because Febos’ article was not like that at all and the subject matter of this book sounds much hotter. According to author (CHANG AND ENG) Darin Strauss, “Whip Smart is that rare, lavish thing — a pageturner that gets you to think, a book that transcends its subject, a true story (in both senses of the word). It’s what you want. Lucid and slyly seductive, funny and sad, Melissa Febos is the real deal.” Add to that the Amazon readers literally could not put the book down and all reported finishing it in less than two days!
Of course I’ll let you know what I think once I’m done.
